Spectrum of the Seas

Spectrum of the Seas

The Quantum Class is a fleet of superlatives. Spectrum of the Seas is the fourth luxury liner in this class. It was constructed by MEYER WERFT with the yard number S. 700. The 348-metre-long ocean giant was delivered to the shipping company in spring 2019.

Royal Caribbean International commissioned MEYER WERFT to build five cruise ships in this class: Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Spectrum of the Seas and Odyssey of the Seas. All five ocean giants have many features in common, such as their spectacular stern architecture with large glazed areas that offer stunning 270-degree views. The vessels in the Quantum Class are so-called “smart ships” that have their very own satellite to make sure they stay online around the clock. Another impressive feature is the North Star, a glass gondola hanging on an extendible and pivoting arm that offers expansive views from a height of up to 90 metres. The ships even boast a skydiving simulator and a multi-storey entertainment area.

A further highlight on the Quantum ships is their air lubrication systems, which pump out air bubbles from the hull to reduce friction with the water surface and cut fuel consumption.
