AIDAdiva
AIDAdiva cruises through the oceans at a rate of 22 knots. It’s part of the Sphinx Class that we built for AIDA Cruises. We delivered the vessel to the shipping company in 2007 – AIDAluna and AIDAbella are the other ships in the series. Based on our positive experience with this first series, we developed a modified Sphinx Class with an even bigger spa area. AIDAblu was then delivered in 2010 as the first ship in the upgraded series. The liners in the Sphinx Class stand out for their tall and narrow design, small foredeck, steep bridge front and equally steep stern.
Around 200 tons of paint and over 1,700 kilometres of wiring went into the construction of AIDAdiva, and around 36,000 light bulbs ensure a pleasant glow around the ocean liner. Around 27,500 square metres of carpet were laid across 13 decks, which is roughly the size of four football pitches. AIDAdiva is made of 55 steel blocks, each one weighing around 450 tons. The shell alone came in at just under 25,000 tons.
Guests can enjoy a beautiful sea view as they relax in the spa or unwind on the sun deck with three pools. AIDAdiva has 1,025 staterooms – some of the suites even have their own jacuzzi. The middle of the ship features the “Theatrium”, a place for guests to relax as they watch breath-taking shows and concerts.
